Clashindarroch II Wind Farm Proposal

We are at the early stage of exploring the potential for additional turbines next to the existing and operational Clashindarroch Wind Farm near Huntly.

The project would involve the addition of up to 16 turbines next to the existing Clashindarroch Wind Farm.

We will be carrying out a full public consultation and will issue further details and request feedback on the project as it develops.

Local Information Events

We recently held a series of Information Days where there was the opportunity to meet the project team, discuss key issues and have a real opportunity to have an input into the assessment and design of the wind farm project. Although this current series of events has now concluded, you can download the information displayed at the sessions here. You can also register for updates and share your feedback here.

Next steps - Spring 2017

Scoping request submitted

The scoping request for Clashindarroch II Wind Farm proposal has been submitted to the Scottish Government and we will consult with organisations such as Scottish Natural Heritage, Scottish Environmental Protection Agency and Aberdeenshire Council to receive their feedback on the scoping report. Download a copy here.

The research programme, known as Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), is a formal process which forms part of the Environmental Statement (ES) to assess and measure the anticipated effects on the environment of the proposed Clashindarroch II Wind Farm.

Vattenfall will consult with local residents and community interests on an outline proposal after the results of the EIA have been assessed ahead of a planning application to the Scottish Government in late 2017.
