Engaging with communities

Throughout the life of our projects, from the time we have an interest in a new site, right through its construction and operation, we are working with our local communities to ensure they have the opportunity to get involved and realise benefits from hosting a wind energy project.

Making sure communities have the chance to get involved, be informed and help to shape our developments are core principles to us.

We want to listen, understand our local community’s needs and develop projects that bring real lasting benefits.

We can only do so by engaging fully with communities from the earliest stages and develop our sites with a strong understanding of their needs.

Involving communities is important at all stages of our projects. During the design phase, it is a chance for communities to get involved with the design of the project, understand the proposed infrastructure, and influence it before a final proposal is put forward.

During construction, we offer communities the chance to get involved with the project – by visiting site, getting involved with bespoke projects, or even working on the project if they have the appropriate skills and experience.

Once in operation, our work continues, through community funding, longer term initiatives, school visits, education projects and support of important priorities to the local community.
