Cnoc an Fhionn, Argyll and Bute

Vattenfall is exploring the potential for developing a wind energy project on a site known as Cnoc an Fhionn.

Cnoc an Fhionn is a site in North Kintyre, Argyll and Bute, located approximately 4km south of the town of Tarbert, north-east of the settlement of Whitehouse and north-west of the village of Skipness.

Vattenfall submitted a scoping report to Argyll and Bute Council on 2nd March. Based on initial assessments and feedback from the first public exhibitions held during December 2014, we have determined that the site has scope to accommodate 13 turbines with a height to blade tip of 110 metres.

We have yet to determine the potential installed capacity of individual turbines but the scale of the proposal means that it would have an installed capacity less than 50 MW and the planning application would be subject to determination by Argyll and Bute Council.
