An educational partnership

On the 11th and 12th February the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC) and Aberdeen Science Centre(ASC) launched their two year educational partnership.

Over the weekend, almost nine hundred and fifty people visited Aberdeen Science Centre to attend the wind energy event. There were  a variety of interactive talks, displays, hands-on experiments, workshops and virtual experiences that showcased the innovation and technology being deployed at the EOWDC.

The Science Centre and Vattenfall collaboratively developed an educational wind workshop that will be delivered to schools, students and community groups in the North East.  As part of the partnership the Science Centre will also offer a Renewable energy CPD (continuous personal development) to teachers to give them the confidence to explore the science behind offshore wind in the classroom, as well as providing them with resource kits to compliment the Curriculum for Excellence.

If you are interested in having the workshop delivered to your school or community group or if you would like to attend the teacher’s CPD sessions please contact the Science Centre at or 01224 640 340.

ASC are also the coordinators of The STEM Ambassador Programme for the North of Scotland. If you are interested in becoming a Stem Ambassador please contact them at
