Onshore substation construction

Onshore construction began in October 2016. Since then the project team have been working hard to establish the site and complete all the preparatory works required to set the foundations.

Once foundations are completed, the building structures will be constructed. The onshore substation will consist of two buildings, one to house the transformer which will stand at 10.6m, 25m width and 28m in length and the other building which will be used for operation and maintenance purposes will stand at 6m in high, 20m width and 30m length.

After building works are completed, electrical works will be undertaken to install and commission the onshore substation and associated windfarm and landscaping of the site will take place.
